BioInsite,
LLC was founded on the vision of its President and Co-Founder,
Dr.
John Coates, a world-renowned microbiologist and professor at
University of California, Berkeley. After years in the microbiological
research and development field and with numerous successes
to his record, Dr. Coates observed that many innovative microbiological
solutions never found their way out of the laboratory. BioInsite was established to move innovation and expertise from the laboratory to the field.
BioInsite is located in Carbondale, Illinois at the Southern Illinois Research Park adjacent to the campus of the Southern Illinois University. BioInsite has ongoing collaborations with Southern Illinois University and the University of California, Berkeley which help BioInsite stay on the cutting edge of environmental technologies and innovations.
BioInsite's microbial scientists have developed unique technologies to serve their customers. They are world-recognized experts in perchlorate source identification and perchlorate contaminant reduction. The BioInsite specialized approach has been successfully used to identify the presence of perchlorate-reducing populations in soils and groundwaters collected from many diverse environments. These technologies include powerful new molecular probes and immunoassays for sample analysis and site assessment. BioInsite, through its state-of-the-art laboratory facility, can perform microbiological, molecular, and geochemical analyses and can develop customized solutions to provide clients with unique answers as well as significant cost-savings.
In addition, BioInsite focuses on the use of aerobic and especially anaerobic microbial-based technology as a solution to environmental problems. BioInsite's bioremediation approach encompasses a number of proprietary methodologies supported by conventional techniques to degrade and remove contaminants in the environment.
A key factor to bioremediation success is isolating, reproducing, and properly applying microbes that have the ability to degrade a particular contaminant. BioInsite has the exclusive rights to commercialize the only known microbe capable of degrading benzene and structurally analogous hydrocarbon compounds both aerobically and anaerobically. This microbe is known as Dechloromonas strain RCB (RCB).
BioInsite provides its clients a unique “Value
Add”. The combination of 1) ground-breaking
laboratory and research efforts and proprietary
microbial solutions led by Dr. Coates,
with 2) practical in-situ applications
coupled with conventional remedial techniques,
and 3) pragmatic evaluations of the cost
and benefits of BioInsite solutions to
environmental problems provides our clients "Advanced Biological Solutions for a Better Environment" that
create a value add never before available.
